Project Status

Hi everyone,

Since our last update, the Contractor has installed most traffic signs, the majority of landscaping, and finished curb and gutter installation along Maple Street. Below is a summary of work planned to occur throughout the upcoming weeks.

Phase 1 & 2 (Perry Lane):

• Next week: Landscaping crews will continue work on retaining walls and landscaping where necessary. Crews that installed mailboxes will coordinate with the Post Office to ensure all mailboxes meet regulations.

• Week of 10/21: Application of mulch on the black dirt is tentatively scheduled for this week. Representatives from the City will perform a walkthrough along Phase 1 & 2 and create a punch list of items for the contractor to address before closing out those phases for 2024.

  • Reminder: Seeding has been postponed until Spring. If your yard has irrigation, they can now be repaired. If you have not yet acquired a landscaper to repair your irrigation, you can contact Darrel Miles, with Groundwater Landscape and Irrigation, at 605-370-3772.

Phase 3 (Maple St):

• Next week: Concrete crews will install the remaining concrete, ADA ramps and driveway approaches. Concrete street paving is scheduled for Wednesday, 10/16.

  • Note: concrete sawing will occur during nighttime hours.

• Week of 10/21: Concrete crews will start rebuilding driveways. Asphalt crews will pave within the intersections of Grand Ave and Milwaukee Street.
